The centre is functioning since 2009 and providing blood transfusion facility to do Thalassemia patients completely free of charge. The blood transfusion is mainly procured from own blood storage centre. In very few situations where is also made available for blood banks. Hundred Thalassemia major children have been adopted for the supply of blood and transfusion we also arrange free diagnostic tests and medicines for children from Vega sections of the society with the help of donors. This Centre is presently named as IRCS MVR Welfare Foundation Thalassemia and is supported financially in terms of medicine supply by Dr. Vijay Ramanan, the director of MVR Welfare Foundation.
